  • Exceptional Service Award

    Frank Magilligan

    Congratulations to Frank Magilligan who just received the Dean of the Faculty Award for Exceptional Service.  This newly created award is given to recognize a teacher-scholar who has contributed significantly to the life of the College through their extraordinary commitment to service.  Professor Magilligan's name will be added to a permanent plaque located in the Hopkins Center corridor opposite the Jaffe-Friede Gallery.

  • Anti-Racism Statement

    Anti Racism

    The faculty of the Geography Department express our anger and sorrow over the killings of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia, Breonna Taylor in Louisville, and far too many Black men and women throughout the United States.  The systemic racism in this country has to be defeated. Already we strive as researchers, teachers and members of a department at Dartmouth to frankly confront racism and the centuries of oppression and murder it perpetuates.
