Postdoctoral Fellowships

The department offers a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship for outstanding recently graduated PhDs in Geography. For these positions we seek exceptional scholars who will both complement and augment existing departmental strengths in research and teaching.

Currently we are accepting applications for:

Postdoctoral fellow in Human Geography. This two-year position will augment and complement existing departmental strengths in critical urban studies, international development, political ecology, and science and technology studies. The successful applicant will contribute intellectually to the department and College by collaborating with faculty to conduct interdisciplinary research while also teaching two ~10 week long courses per year.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program.

About the Fellowship

Our postdoctoral fellow contributes to the intellectual life of department and college through their research, writing, and participation in department seminars and other events. Fellows also teach two courses per year.  While at Dartmouth they enjoy full use of the library, computing facilities, the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning, and other college resources. Fellows receive an annual stipend of $52,500, plus a $1000 research allowance.

Additionally, The Neukom Fellows program is an interdisciplinary postdoctoral program at Dartmouth that may provide another means of working with or being mentored by faculty in our department. Please see the position announcement at
