The department celebrated graduating seniors and their families at the Awards Luncheon on Saturday. 14 students were honored with awards for their academic excellence, passion for the environment and social justice, and enduring spirit of geography.

Maria's paper '"For The Land Where…" Analyzing the Interplay between Polish Romantic Poetry and Geospatial Thinking' was awarded best written work in Geography this year for its "outstanding analytical and creative richness".

The former PhD student and current Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University was recognized by Dartmouth for his "personal qualities of intellectual curiosity, dedication, and commitment to the pursuit of new knowledge and to teaching, as well as a sense of social responsibility to the community of scholars".
