WMUR 9 news reported on a recent study saying that New Hampshire's climate may soon be similar to the climate of Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Virginia, depending on how fast the global temperature warms.
Jonathan Winter, Dartmouth College climate scientist, was interviewed by the news team, saying: "Even though we might not get those super high temperatures you would have down in Texas – down in Texas, they know they're going to get those. So I think the challenge for New Hampshire when it comes to heat is to make sure that we have those places where people can go and get into air conditioning."
Winter has led multiple studies showing the local effects of climate change, including an article about potential changes in stream flow due to changes in precipitation.
