As the climate changes, I am interested in understanding how the distribution of water around the globe will change. Some places are drying and will continue to dry, while others are wetting and will continue to do so. As such, my research questions center around three main questions. First, how does anthropogenic forcing influence past hydroclimate variability and change? Second, how does natural (internal) climate variability influence hydroclimate variability and change? Third, what is the combined influence of anthropogenic forcings impact on natural climate variability on hydroclimate variability and change? I seek to use observations and climate models to better understand the relative drivers of past hydroclimate change so that we can better constrain our projections of future water availability.
