"Arsenic-Based Animal Drugs: A Case Study in Scientific Evidence, Media Coverage & Policy Change"
Dr. Nachman leads investigations of the public health and environmental impacts of industrial agriculture, with particular interest in livestock and poultry production. He is Director, Food Production & Public Health Program, Center for a Livable Future. He is also on the faculty of the Departments of Environmental Health Sciences and Health Policy and Management at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, John Hopkins University. His research program focuses on the human health risks posed by drugs used in food animals. His publications include studies of antibiotic use in food animals and the development of antibiotic resistance, the use of arsenicals in poultry production, and environmental health policy and decision-making.
