Sara Mardini will speak about escaping the war & saving the lives of other refugees from Syria and her journey to become a strong advocate and voice for refugee and women’s rights.
The Dickey Center Global Health Initiative, the Geisel Center for Health Equity, Geisel Physicians for Human Rights, the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (ChAD) tand the Nathan Smith Society present a very special evening.
A Refugee’s Journey of Courage and Hope

Sara Mardini and her sister Yusra saved 20 lives by swimming for three and a half hours guiding their refugee boat through the Mediterranean Sea when the motor broke. She has gone on to become a Human Rights Champion recognized by the UN and European Parliament. In this special conversation, Sara will speak about escaping the war in Syria and her journey to become a strong advocate and voice for refugee and women’s Rights.
